I MUST HAVE IT!

OK, I know this is crazy, but what the hell? Since when am I not?
So, I'm planning to get I Heart New York! Yes, the US edition! Isn't it wild?
Oh, the thought of it makes my stomach flip in excitement!
The cover is soooo fab! I want it.
In Borders, it's 56.70, but if I buy on Book Depository, it's only 36!
Isn't life sweet?
Ooh, let's appreciate the gorgeous cover...

20 years.. 2 people..

I have to say, never have I found such a compelling, touching book. One Day was very uplifting, Emma and Dex were very lovable, David Nicholls has cleverly crafted this amazingly readable.
For once it was the only book that isn't chick lit that I've enjoyed.
Clearly, David Nicholls has a kind of magic to even attract my attention of such a delightful but at the same time heartbreaking novel.
Not to spoil anyone's surprise but it was really sad at the end. Yes, sorry for killing the suspense, but I'm sure everyone knows there's ought to be tragedy, right? Whether in life or just a book.

I don't want it to end!

I just don't want it to end. It's lovely and for the first time, I'm actually enjoying something besides chick lit. It's just overwhelming me. It makes me think of all the great things in life, like your parents' love, your old friends who still cherish you.
I'm pretty sure One Day will influence my writing from now on. I've even decided that my heroine will have some of Emma Morley in her!
I'll update when I'm done with this amazingly uplifting book!

One Day, it was yesterday

Guess what? I've bought it. Yes. Come on, the title says it all, doesn't it?
Yes, I bought One Day yesterday at MPH's store wide book sale. 20% off. I know it's not much, but yes. Saving up to buy it was pretty hard. I had to live off coins and pennies. But I know it's worth it, though I'm broke. Seriously broke except for a few pennies left in my wallet.
Anyway, let's focus on things at hand here, shall we?
I'm sure everyone knows One Day has been made into a film, starring Anne Hathaway as Emma and Jim Sturgess as Dexter. I can't wait to watch it as it will be releasing some time around my birthday! I'm literally on tenterhooks here!
I've started with One Day and I'm completely in love with Em and Dex.
I'll keep you posted on my progress!
Much love.

Ellie Andrews, my dear friend

I loved it.
Yes! Ellie Andrews Has Second Thought was lovely. I adored Ellie's funny remarks. She's like a walking disaster zone!
It's about Ellie, the youngest of the Amazing Andrews, who turned down her long term boyfriend/boss, Rupert, then when she thought her life was over, in comes Marcus Lacey, massive playboy who is loaded. Yes, he's the MP. What's an MP?
Never mind, he was a bloody slag. He "fell in love" with Ellie just to get news on Sam's (Ellie's best friend) protest in Ethy Woods. So, whatever.
Poor Ellie then went for her long-term crush since high school, Jay, who is Sam's brother.
Then she finds out that Jay is engaged to a manipulative psycho bitch model, Roxy who lies about her bloody pregnancy. Cow.
So Ellie soon meets Xander, the perfect guy. Loaded. Good looking. Superstar.
But she realizes who she wants to marry.
It was a mystery to all readers who she'll be walking down the aisle with.
It was great, funny and I didn't want it to end!
Lovely story. Now I'm tempted to buy Katy Carter Wants A Hero.
Bugger, Ruth. You are mean.

Kevin has NO second thoughts!

Yes, I bought it.
I emailed Ruth Saberton, telling her that I shall be buying Ellie Andrews Has Second Thoughts because I loved reading the first chapter.
Yeah, I hadn't had second thoughts when I sashayed into the book store and grabbed a copy and headed to the till.
And yes, I have it next to me now, perfectly (hopefully) wrapped.
I will be reading it tonight. Yes, that is what I will be doing.
Thank you, Ruth Saberton. And God, thank You for letting me buy it.

The particular sadness of Aimee Bender

Honestly, I didn't fully understand The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake.
Either Rose is very peculiar and odd or she has a very mature outlook in life. I just couldn't relate to her.
She seems like a poor tortured soul.
Her brother is weird, glum and downright rude.
Her mother is a two-timing cow who likes her boss.
Her father is inconspicuous and blur at all times.
The point is, it's not really chick lit to me. She doesn't find true love.
All her conflict revolves around her dull family.
Sorry, Sarah Page of Random House UK, but I don't mean to be such an ungrateful cow, it's just that, it's not what I've expected.
Rose is maybe a bit too bitter for me as I prefer a particular sweetness and tangy taste of lemon.

I will miss TSGTDL!

Well, I've just finished The Single Girl's To-do List by the ever fabulous Lindsey Kelk. I have to say, I'll miss it. Yes, although I've read it twice, but I will miss having Rachel as my new best friend.
I can't believe it but I Heart Vegas will be out on December 8th, followed by I Heart London on August 2nd.
Thank you, Lindsey, for your super, super amazing present to me!
Now, on with The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake. Again, thanks to Random House UK! :)

Miss me when I'm gone!

As it seems my country has "National Service" for high school leavers. Which means I might be targeted to leave home for 3 months to survive in a sordid camp site in the woods.
Yes, I've just discovered yesterday that I am in fact, have been "shot" to be in the national service program. No, I am not happy, thankyouverymuch.
I'll be leaving in mid-December, hopefully. I hope so. Fingers crossed!

By the way, I think I'll be seeking solace in my novels, which I hope is not prohibited in the gritty camp.
Anyway, please miss me when I'm gone.
I have finished Something Blue last Sunday. On with TSGTDL :)

Oh, and I bought my first ever classic novel, Jane Eyre!

Sunday, July 3, 2011

I did it again!

I missed Rachel and Darcy. So I decided to read Something Borrowed and Something Blue again!
I've just finished Something Borrowed this morning! On with Something Blue!
Then probably after that, The Single Girl's To-do List, perhaps?
After all, they are such good novels that ranks up to Sophie Kinsella's!
Well, I've got to read The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake too! But I haven't got round wrapping it yet, who could blame me? School's been really hectic lately.
I mean, you don't see other schools in other countries which requires students to march for bloody sports day! Luckily, I'm all set to endure the blazing heat when I have my Nike white visor (similar to Maria's).

I had a breakdown yesterday while watching Wimbledon's Ladies' Singles Final. I couldn't deal with the fact that Maria was playing well, despite her shoulder injury, but lost to Petra (who in my opinion looks like a turkey, her mouth resembles the beak and her body is fat and wide while her legs are skinny!). Other than that, I think I am enjoying my weekend!

Malaysian sweetheart

So, guess what. I've made friends with a Malaysian author, Lisa Lim, who is now residing in US.
What else can I say? How else would I feel?
I'm extremely proud of her. It's just amazing she could make it big there!
It just shows, even I could be like her!
Lisa, I'm looking forward to reading Confessions of A Call Center Gal! :)
You are my inspiration, sweetheart!

I've Got Mail!

Yay!
I got my free copy of The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake from Random House, UK!
Yes, it was awesome! I was over the moon. It was indeed air mailed to my doorstep, well in my case, mail box.
I need to thank Sarah Page from Random House. She was lovely.
And many thanks to Stephanie Pegler and Angela Smith of Chick Lit Club!

My To-Do List

Kevin Loh's To-Do List :
  • Reread The Single Girl's To-do List by the ever awesome Lindsey Kelk!
  • Reread Something Borrowed and Something Blue by Emily Giffin!
  • Study for my major exams this year in Dec. Yuck.
  • Buy I Heart Vegas as a pressie for myself for surviving high school!
  • Buy I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella as the cheer me up pressie next year in February!
Honestly, I loved The Single Girl's To-do List. I wish my best friend(s) would create a special to-do list for me when I get chucked. Where are the Emelies and Matthews in this world?

Lindsey Kelk highlighted the perks of being single, eg. dye your hair red, paint curses at your ex while repainting the flat pink, get a tattoo, fall in love again, go for bungee jumping (or something similar), etc.
I loved they way Rachel has double personalities; Old Rachel and Redhead Rachel.
Thank you, Lindsey Kelk. I shall look forward to reading Angela's adventures in Las Vegas!

2012 will be a great year!

2012 will be a blast!
I mean, I can't wait for it!
I can't wait for my major exams to end.
The moment I'm done with it, I Heart Vegas will be mine!
Yes, it has been set to be released on December 8th.

My anticipation does not end there because Sophie Kinsella's next novel will be releasing on February 16th next year.
And it is entitled I've Got Your Number!

I'm already towards the ending of The Single Girl's To-do List and I've got to say, I'm loving every word of it. It's cleverly crafted to perfection. Lindsey Kelk, you are the successor of Sophie Kinsella. I'm so proud of you!

Something Blue...

Darcy is such an admirable character.
Yes, she is. Trust me. Read Something Blue and you'll agree with me, it takes a hard and long journey for a self-centred, deficit person to change herself. I guess I was a tad judgemental of Darcy in Something Borrowed. She has feelings too. She just wants to win everything. I guess I'm also a Darcy at heart. I like to win. Is it wrong?
Besides, albeit unlucky in love at first, Dex then Marcus then FINALLY Ethan! God, Ethan is just great. Wait. Awesome and compassionate, meets scruffy and simple yet easygoing.
Pregnancy did have a hold on Darcy's selfish character. She's much more refined and caring towards others and I have to say, she would make amends with Rachel fairly quickly.
Overall, I loved it. I'm awaiting Emily Giffin to write more about the adventures of Rachel and Darcy.

Good things happen to those who wait.. Or at least..

Hey! It's been a week, I think. Well I shall not keep you waiting and am going to kill the suspense!
Something Borrowed was AWESOME. I loved Rachel and Dex. But I almost feel sorry for Darcy. Almost.
Rach and Dex do make a lovely couple. They are both very witty and they compliment each other. As I'm typing this, I am sweating like a pig in a roaster oven. Damn.
What do I like about Rach?
Hmmm. Maybe because she cares about others rather than trample on others, exactly what Darcy does. She treasures her friendship of more than over twenty five year with Darcy. It's a fine line between love and friendship. Yes, sleeping with your best friend's fiancé when you're the maid of honour, classy. But why would you let true love slip away because he belongs to your best friend who is a selfish, spoiled bitch?
I loved it, absolutely loved it. Hamptons every weekend, count me in!

Perhaps something blue...

Surprise, surprise!
I got Something Blue yesterday. Isn't life sweet? My beloved aunt got me my "early" birthday pressie. I am so thrilled and excited to go home with 2 books!
Come to think of it. I don't think I'll buy any more books this year. Except The Single Girl's To-do List, a definite MUST-READ. Maybe Jemima J (I know I should be saving up for my future and it's my major exams this year, but that is not the point).
Darcy Rhodes. God, what a glamorous person. Perfect hair and body, beautiful charm and perfect husband-to-be, or in this case, ex-husband. Ouch!
Can't wait to indulge in the ups and downs of Darcy Rhodes as she struggles to find love and hopefully forgives Dex and Rachel.
Still more to come! Stay tuned!

New look!

Hi! I've decided to change my blog's look!
Hope you like it! I mean, I love it! It's so feminine and rich.
I feel delighted to look at it. I know, it looks a bit like Gossip Girl meets posh vintage!
I love it! I love it! I love it! I love it! I love it! I love it! I love it! I love it!

Something Borrowed shall be mine!

Hey, you!
Life's been good for me. Enjoying the City and I'm loving it here!
I watched Diary of A Wimpy Kid 2 and I was fidgeting, waiting for it to end. It was definitely not my idea. My cousins wanted to watch it while I wanted to go for Something Borrowed, but sacrifices must be made.
I had to endure an hour and a half of child problems and teen angst.
I couldn't wait for it to end as I know Something Borrowed was waiting for me in MPH. I had to contain the excitement!
Alas, I got it. Yes. And bollocks, I'm broke and it's only my 3rd day. Shit.
I can't wait to immerse into THE ADVENTURES OF RACHEL AND DARCY! x

YES. My first try!

OK, just finished reading Twenties Girl and I have to say, I loved it!
What's not to love especially when it was tailored to perfection by the Queen of Chick Lit, Sophie Kinsella. (Sorry, Lindsey. You're the Princess of Chick Lit!)
I absolutely adored Sadie and Lara, the dynamic duo! At the end, I was really touched and I can't help feeling for Lara when Sadie, her dead 105 year old great aunt's spirit, has to "move on". Given such strong stands Sadie had, she is really a remarkable character. I would love it if she's MY great aunt!
Sadie's appearance in Lara's life has granted her nothing but happiness. Lara meets Ed, a successful American who's on transfer to London and despite their differences, they do make a lovely couple. I love the way he calls Lara "twenties girl"! All in all, a fab novel by the ever spectacular Sophie Kinsella.

10/10!

Besides that, I've pre-ordered The Single Girl's To-Do List off Book Depository! It was a one off, fab offer! Only 3 pounds! As in REALLY 3 POUNDS!
Heehee. But I reckon it will take 2 weeks to arrive by post. Hmph. Well, good things happen to those who wait, right?

I Had A Great Week!

I've had a fab week because I've immersed myself in Jenny Lopez's world!
Getting older isn't healthy for Jenny Lopez, Angela Clark's best friend, from the I Heart series by Lindsey Kelk.
I have just finished reading it a while ago. Literally, 10 minutes ago and I loved it!
Thanks to you-know-who.
Jenny is smart, funny and witty. She's sharp and clever. The total opposite of Angie, not that I'm implying that Angie's dumb or anything.
Ms Lindsey Kelk, I look forward to read on Jenny's wonderful adventures with Sigge! Please don't let them break up! I love them! And also Angie and Alex too!
I'm awaiting your next novel!

SOMETHING BORROWED!

Oh, my God! Something Borrowed will be out in the cinemas soon! Oh, I just can't wait. I've watched the trailer and "OH MY GOD! Colin Egglesfield is so fecking hot!".
I really want to read the book too, but the movie tie-in edition's font is quite ghastly. And hideous. Not that I don't like its font, it's just.. you know.
I really really want to watch it. I hope I can. I must make time to.
It was a massive hoohah when Confessions Of A Shopaholic didn't show in my city. I got extremely cross with my local cinema and refused to watch anything, but sod it and that's not that point.

I'm reading Twenties Girl... AGAIN!
I love how feisty Sadie is and how unlikely they duo are, but they eventually bonded and it's really touching. A MUST-READ for a Sophie Kinsella fan. Unless you're infected by Anti-Chick Lit disease, you're exempted.

She's a red headed bitch and I hate her!

SHE'S A RED-HEADED BITCH AND I HATE HER!
The exact slogan of Danny's tee for The Look. It refers to Cruella de Venetia, Luke's gorgeous and smart red-headed bitch who is after Luke. Only poor Luke doesn't know his ex-girlfriend is a manipulative man-eating bitch. Well, don't you just love it when there's competition between Bex and Ven? At the end of the book, I discovered how much Becky meant to Luke, no matter how reckless she is or how much she spends. It just shows, how much love Luke has for Becky.

Anybody here?

Brilliant. Brilliant. The only word I can say about Anybody Out There. It's heart-warming, funny and touching. A loving tale of a spinster who recovers from a broken heart after her husband dies.
Another one of Marian Keyes's greatest works.
I loved it. It touched me. Many times better than PS I Love You. The only missing is the letters from Aidan. Hmph. Never mind though. Loved it.

One less person who doesn't know about my blog!

Thank you, Melenie Natalie Hew!
Loads of love and many thanks for reading my (fab!) blog!
No one could ask for a better dear friend like you!
And since it's your birthday.

HAPPY SWEETEST SEVENTEENTH, MEL!
Loads of sugary love from me!

Happy birthday, Mel!

I want a cake pull too!

I've just finished indulging myself in Wedding Fever and I must say, "I love weddings. Not marriages, but weddings."
I mean, what you get from weddings is a loving, charming husband who will love you no matter the consequences. But the ceremony and sparkly décor to your bridal bouquet and that expensive gorgeous white gown you'd wear when you walk down the aisle, is no doubt a bonus. I think people should be allowed to get married more than once. They could celebrate their anniversary by organizing a "wedding-themed" party. I'd do that!
At the end of the novel, Nic discovers fantastic news; she's pregnant. Many thanks to the baby carriage charm she pulled out. Seema and Scott are dating, thanks to the shovel she pulled which symbolises nurturing and care of their long term friendship, and not forgetting hard work. They love each other and from the part when she kissed him at Nic's wedding, I was furiously screaming "ARE YOU BLIND? SHE IS IN LOVE WITH YOUUU!". Though Scott couldn't hear me, but at least Seema got the happy ending she wanted. And lastly, Mel. She finds herself in the arms of Danny, a hot Japanese-American who loves her and appreciates her, unlike Fred, her stupid cheating arse of a boyfriend. And I'm guessing Mel gets hot wild sex every night with Danny, many many thanks to the red hot chilli pepper she pulled.
The end of the book promises a sequel when they have another bridal shower, to whom, I can't say, which features the amazing cake pull! Mel wants the passport. Seema wants the engagement ring and Nic want the photo frame that promises a happy family.
The book ends by Mel asking, "Hey, do you think we could trade?".

Friday, April 22, 2011

OMG! It's Wedding Fever!

It's been a while, hasn't it? Well, upon finishing Pick Me Up, I bought Marian Keyes's Anybody Out There and Kim Gruenenfelder's Wedding Fever! (Well, it's called There's Cake In My Future in US)
Hmmm. I've decided to start reading Wedding Fever first. I'm in the mood for weddings and bride fits!
So, the story revolves around 3 friend; Nicole, Seema and Melissa. Nicole decides to have a cake pull for her bridal shower, so she's hidden different charms inside the cake. According to plan, Nic will receive the shovel for hard work, Seema will get the red hot chilli pepper for wild hot sex with Scott (her best friend/crush since for ever) and Mel will get the engagement ring as a lucky charm for her 6 year boyfriend, Fred to propose to her.
But everything's messed up and the respective charms are pulled by other people.
Nic gets the baby carriage!
Seema gets the shovel!
Mel gets the red hot chilli pepper!
Soon, the fate of other guests start changing. Can't they wonder if the cake's magically onto something?

Pick Me Up, would you?

Hello, it's been a while since I've updated my dear blog. Yes, I've been extremely busy with school and I haven't got around buying any new books. Pathetic, huh? Come to think of it. I really have to focus on my studies. But what the hell, right? Why stop doing something you love the most?
Oh, yeah. Mimi Shopaholic is out in paperback. And not that I feel sad or anything. (Though the cover for both editions are gorgeous). The US version is really fab! With Becky and Minnie striding down the street with carrier bags and all. The UK one is something similar to the original one. Minus the snow and wool clothing. It's summertime and they are in gorgeous summer wear!

What The Hell!

Well, it's been a while since I've updated my blog. So, to kick things off, I have finished Shopaholic Ties The Knot for the 3rd time and I still love it!
I managed to finish it in 3 days thought it's not much of an achievement, but what the hell? A week after being in Bloomwood world, I bought The Last Letter From Your Lover by Jojo Moyes. Seriously, Sophie Kinsella has good taste in books, as do I :)

It's about adultery in the modern world and also the past. There's Jenny Stirling who is married to a rich and successful mine owner, Laurence. Then there's Ellie who has a relationship with a married man. On the other side, Jenny had an accident and has amnesia (Remember Me?) and she hasn't got a clue who her "lover" is. The only hint in his letters to her is signed by B.
B?
There's Bill.
There's Bear.
But the real lover of hers is Boot. Though it's not his real name, which is Anthony.
And Laurence tried to convince her the affair never was, but it's love lost and found for us.

I'm maxed out!

Hello!
I've been down memory lane and without a doubt, I enjoyed it!
Don't you just love being in Becky's world? I wish I could just jump into the book and live happily ever after ( I know, I should snap out of it!).
Minnie Brandon! Hee hee.
Dear sweet little shopaholic, I love you!
Wait, I love Becky more!
NO! I love Luke! Shhh.
Oh, sod it. I love every single one of them!

So, I've got nothing to read now. Not even a new book. Sob.
Guess what? I'm reading The Secret Dreamworld Of A Shopaholic... AGAIN!
And I never get bored of it. I don't know why though. The storyline doesn't seem sublime to me!

Fab news!
The cover for The Single Girl's To-do List is out and I love it to bits!
It's gorgeous, but I Heart Paris' cover is prettier!
I can't wait. Seriously, I wish tomorrow's June 9th!

Isn't it G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S?

The Bloomwood Way!

Bonjour!
I just finished reading The Secret Dreamworld Of A Shopaholic this morning at 2! Though I feel extremely exhausted, I feel bloody well!
It has been 3 times I've read it and it never fails to deliver the sweet nostalgic feeling!

I'm sure every Tom, Dick and Harry knows how the story goes. It's as if you don't know, I might as well shoot you down at dawn!

Name : Rebecca Bloomwood
Occupation : Financial Journalist
Status : Currently in debt

And the story goes on and on, from being a crap financial journalist who completes her articles based on press packs to the approachable meets girl-next-door financial guru on The Morning Coffee!
Definitely 10/10!

Sophie Kinsella never disappoints us lovely readers.
I'll be waiting to read on Becky's adventure in LA!

Retail therapy!

Allo!
I've finally finished Marian Keyes's Brightest Star in The Sky!
And I loved it! Not as much as I love the Shopaholic series, but it was brilliant! The story revolves around the tenants living in a flat, 66th Star Street.
There's Katie, who's forty and miserable in life, anxious to tie the knot with her workaholic boyfriend, Conall.
Then the floor below, there's Lydia, a cabbie in her twenties, with a feisty personality, sharing her flat with two Poles, Andrei and Jan.
The flat below, Jemima, eighty-eight years of age with her lovable, furry companion, Grudge ( weird name, right? ).
And lastly, Matt and Maeve, the "perfect" couple, with the same routine everyday. They spend their nights watching uninteresting TV programmes and snuggling on the couch.
Overall, I think it's worth the read, albeit the storyline's a tad too long.
8/10 :)

Thursday, March 3, 2011

Allo!

Thank God my exams are over! But on the downside, the ACTUAL one's in November. Sob. Who on God's green earth likes exams? Oh, God.
Exams are torturous!

Anyway, I've bought my first ever novel from Marian Keyes!
Ha! It's The Brightest Star in The Sky and I love it. Well, I'm still in Day 60. Sob. Mind you, I was busy with school and exams and all.
So, by the time I'm done with it, I shall review it for you, shan't I? :)

By the way, I'm on a total craze for Gossip Girl!
Actually, Gossip Girl : The Carlyles to be exact. Gosh, Owen sounds like a total Adonis-like stud and Avery's soooooo HAWT! So far, I've read the first one and I've borrowed the second and third from my school's (shitty) library.
Hmmmm. The holidays are coming, can't wait!
Though there's no real fun to it when you're grounded at home. Sob.

You know you love me,
xoxo

Err.. Should I go for..?

Oh, crap.
I'm torn between Mia and Milly.
WHY WHY WHY?
I've been loving Mia until I thought back on The Wedding Girl.
ASS-HEJH-AI-TEE!

Whatever then. It's still the early days. I've only got the plot and storyline.
Not getting my hopes high because I'm incomparable to Sophie Kinsella and Lindsey Kelk and Meg Cabot and Marian Keyes and Emily Giffin and the list goes on and on.
I've been looking for writing courses but so far, zero result. Sob.

But this year, Something Borrowed will hit the cinemas in May!
I can't wait. Partly because Kate Hudson's portraying Darcy :)
Besides, I have enough time to read it first.
I do hope 2011 will be better than last year.
Fingers crossed!

ARGHH..

This is a very, very shit time to buy myself books.
This is a very, very, very shit time.

I've been to MPH more than thrice and they don't seem to restock the books.
ESPECIALLY the CHICK LIT/FICTION section.
Seriously, what the hell?
I've seriously gone cold turkey. Without buying a novel for me is like, "Rebecca Bloomwood not shopping!".
Do you know how severe this is?
Either they restock or I'll send myself to the loony bin.

Meanwhile, I've been busy with my "novel", as you can call it that, albeit the chance of it being published is zero to one.
I've decided on my heroine's name!
Mia! Isn't she such an angel? :)
It's a cross between Becky Bloomwood and Angela Clark!

OH!
I forgot!
Lindsey Kelk's releasing a new novel in June!
It's called A Single Girl's To-Do List and I'm seriously excited!
Though the cover is yet to be released, I'm already on my toes for it!
Besides, since Lindsey Kelk is my dear friend. Not in a stalk-ish way, but yeah! She remembers me from Facebook and we've exchanged e-mails a few times!
AND SHE'S AWESOME!
I've even made friends with Chick Lit Club's Angela Smith!
Here's to you, babe! :)

SHOP SHOP SHOP!

HELLO!
There's nothing better to do than reading Mini Shopaholic for the third time!
Though it was pricier than other novels I've bought last year, but after reading it for so many times, I think it's worth it because it'll pay for itself and I was right!

OMG. Borders is filing for bankruptcy!
One of the leading bookstores in the world is about to fold!
This can't be, right? I bet someone behind is pulling some strings or something.

Saturday, February 12, 2011

Rambling .. again!

Well, it turns out, having finishing I Heart Paris in less than a week, I read I Heart Hollywood too! OK, I'm on a craze on chick lit ( since when am I not? ).
So sorry for not blogging. It's been a hectic week and having my aunt back was a blessing!

I wish James Jacobs was real. I mean, wouldn't he be a hot cake for all women but it turns out he's actually gay with his agent, Blake who's a total arse. Being in LA, Angela appeared on gossip websites and magazines for the wrong reason. It turns out the paps think Angie's found a new man. Seriously? On the contrary, Jenny's been really distant and the trust between Angie and Alex has been falling apart. But after Alex's surprise visit to LA, everything turned back to normal. Thank God. Loved it somehow, no wonder Chick Lit Club rated it a 9 out of 10! Superb read!

Family

It's the time every year when all my relatives come back home.
I know, I'm a total sucker for family reunions, but who could blame me?
Ha-di-ha.
I just wish we could go for karaoke tonight as I can't wait to sing at the top of my lungs!
Besides, it's pretty much fun to enjoy a work-free week with our family!

Well, I pretty much have nothing to say as I don't have much to write about. I'm writing this post is to make my other posts in my blog to feel less lonely :)

So, guys. Sneak a peek on the upcoming book I'm buying!

I heart... (Part 2)

I HEART... no, not you!
Well, when I Googled A Single Girl's To-Do List, I came across a really fab I Heart Lindsey Kelk logo. I must say, the person who did that is amazing.
It's all pink and girly which totally matches my blog!
I do hope they have one for Sophie Kinsella.
Can you imagine an I Heart Sophie Kinsella badge? I'd buy loads of them and wear them wherever I go!

I'm on my toes for Sophie Kinsella's standalone novel this year.
More to be exact, I'm giddy with excitement! Whenever I think of it, my stomach gives a loop-dee-loop!
I went to the bookstore today, but apparently, The Last Letter From Your Lover has not been released yet in paperback.
Oh, well. As they say, "Good things happen to those who wait!", so be it. I'll wait.
For all I know, I might get it for free! Ha-di-ha. Like that will happen.

Well, au revoir and I'll keep you posted on my adventures in Paris!

This is what I was referring to. Isn't it just gorgeous? :)

I heart..

Well, I never thought I'd miss Angela Clark this much!
I'm at chapter 4 of I Heart Paris and it's awesome! Lindsey Kelk never fails to deliver.
I just hope (fingers crossed!) that The Single Girl's To-Do List is equally fun as the I Heart series.
I'm in a terrible need of chick lit now! All I can do is wait for The Last Letter From Your Lover by Jojo Moyes. Hmmm.
If you ask me, I'd very much prefer books written in the present tense, e.g. fab novels by Sophie Kinsella!

But sod it. Lindsey is doing a fab job!
And here's why!

Rachel Summers lives every area of her life according to a to-do list and so far, she is ticking most things off. She has a job she loves (make-up artist to the stars), the perfect boyfriend, a cosy London flat and a fantastic circle of friends. All that remains on her life to-do list is to get married, have a baby and live happily ever after. Simple. Well, not quite… Suddenly, Rachel’s perfect boyfriend wants to take a break. She’s convinced it’s just cold feet but when the break turns into a split, her best friends Emelie and Matthew step in and come up with the ultimate heartbreak cure – the single girl's to-do list, the top ten things Rachel must see and do to kick-start her fabulous, new single life. But nothing can prepare her for the adventures that unfold as the to-do list takes them all over town and even abroad, and proves to all three that love is out there if you’re willing to take a chance…

Ambitions

Many of my friends asked me, "what's your ambition?" over and over again.
Well, I wanted to be a vet when I was 10. (silly me!)
I wanted to be a fashion designer when I was 13 and I went on a craze for fashion.
And now, 17, I want to be a writer!
Well, not any boring writer, I want to be a CHICK LIT writer!
My dreams will be reality when I be a best-selling author, but you know, Asians won't go far.
Bullshit. I'll prove it to those who are in doubt!
And to those who think chick lit is worth a laugh, think again, prejudice snobs!

Hmm. I finished reading Me And Mr Darcy last night and I think it was pretty fun! At first, I knew Emily will fall for the scruffy journalist, Spike. It's pretty cliche but Alexander Potter made it worth the read. At first, the storyline was quite slow, but towards the end, it was rather romantic than corny.
I'm sure women all over the world think Mr Darcy is the most eligible "gentleman" to date, but please, from Emily's perspective, he's too much of an arrogant, brooding arse!

Next in line, I'll be rereading Lindsey Kelk's I Heart Paris.
PARIS, HERE I COME! :)

Greetings!

Hello there!
I have a passion for chick lit books.
I loved the Shopaholic series, hereby I declare Sophie Kinsella as my favourite author!
Besides indulging myself in the Becky's world, I do sometimes sneak over to Angela Clark's! (shhh!)
Therefore, I declare Lindsey Kelk as my (2nd) favourite author!

Aside from these fab writers, I do (occasionally) read chick lit by other writers, such as Jennifer Weiner and Alexandra Potter.

Thus, this blog is dedicated to those who have the same love for chick lit as I do!
Kudos!
